Aya Sophia Wildlife Villa sits on the Dolly Estate at Maji ya Chai, in the farmland belt between Arusha and Moshi. The location is unusually practical for a property of its type: roughly 25 to 30km from Arusha city, about 20km from Kilimanjaro International Airport, and only 3km off the Arusha to Moshi road, on surfaced access suitable for any vehicle. That puts it within easy reach of the northern circuit gateways to Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, while remaining close enough to the airport for a same-day arrival or departure. The property is built around resident wildlife. Giraffe, zebra and antelope range across the estate grounds, and the accommodation is arranged to look out onto them. There are 39 units in three tiers: 19 Standard Rooms with private balconies, 10 Golden Villas as one-bedroom retreats with private pools, and 10 Royal Villas with three bedrooms and their own pools. Interiors are contemporary rather than tented or rustic, with en-suite bathrooms and hot and cold water throughout. Facilities are closer to a resort than a bush camp.
