Gnus Lair

Gnus Lair is the Northern Serengeti camp in Planet Lodges' Lairs collection, opened in mid 2026 and built around one idea: place guests within reach of the Mara River while the Great Migration is moving through the north. The camp sits in the Kogatende area, about ten minutes from the main crossing corridors, and runs seasonally from July to November so it is only open when the herds are there. Accommodation is limited to eight tented suites on raised platforms, each taking up to three guests in king or twin configurations, with an en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a private deck, tea and coffee facilities, Wi-Fi and a telephone. Shared areas stay deliberately simple: a lounge and restaurant open to the plains, a gym, and massage on request at the end of a long game drive. Days are shaped around migration led game drives in open safari vehicles, with bush dining and sundowners set up out in the landscape, and the camp pairs naturally with Jackals Lair in the Central Serengeti and Elephants Lair in Tarangire for a full northern circuit. A minimum of three nights is recommended during migration season, and no river crossing can be guaranteed.
