Kaliwa Lodge

Kaliwa Lodge is set in the rainforest on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, at an altitude of 1,300 meters overlooking the Weru Weru River valley, about 20 km from Moshi and 10 minutes from the Machame Gate. Its bungalows have a distinctive Bauhaus inspired architectural style, each a freestanding unit with a private entrance and veranda, floor to ceiling windows and modern comforts. Guests can relax in the pool, dine on a wooden deck overlooking the forest and the mountain, or sample whiskies at the on site bar, while blue monkeys, vervet monkeys and bushbabies move through the surrounding trees. It works well as a first or last night stop before or after a Kilimanjaro climb or northern circuit safari.
