Katavi Wildlife Camp

Tanzania

About this stay

Katavi Wildlife Camp is a small camp of tented rooms set among woodland on the fringe of the Katisunga plain, deep in Katavi National Park in western Tanzania. Katavi is one of Africa's most remote and least visited parks, rewarding the effort to reach it with enormous herds of buffalo, some of the highest hippo densities on the continent, and prides of lion that hold their ground against them at the shrinking dry season pools. Each tented room has a private veranda, netted bed and en suite bathroom with solar heated water. Days are built around game drives across the plains and along the Katuma River, with Maasai guides walking guests between rooms after dark, since wildlife regularly passes through camp. Evenings end around the campfire or on the dining deck overlooking the floodplain. Katavi Wildlife Camp is run by Foxes Safari Camps and reached by scheduled Safari Air Link charter flight.
