Kicheche Bush Camp

Kicheche Bush Camp is built around a simple idea: keep it small, keep it personal and put it in the best game country you can find. There are six tents in total, five standard and one family suite, spread out under acacias in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, and no fence between them and the plains. The camp was rebuilt in 2025, and the new tents are light and generous, with pale canvas, timber floors, en suite bathrooms with hot and cold showers, free standing fans, in tent water dispensers, yoga mats and a hammock slung outside each veranda. A single open sided tent holds both the lounge and the communal dining table, which sets the tone: meals are hosted, drinks happen around the fire, and the guiding team eats with guests. Olare Motorogi is a 35,000 acre conservancy formed with more than 300 Maasai landowners on the northern boundary of the national reserve, and its rules are the reason to be here. Vehicle numbers are capped at a fraction of what the reserve allows, off road driving and night drives are permitted, and the resident lion, leopard and cheetah density is as high as anywhere in Africa. Guides are Silver rated by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association. Beyond game drives there are guided bush walks, a back of house tour, guided runs, a visit to the Maa Trust beading project and the option of a night of wild camping under the stars. Kicheche is a member of The Long Run and holds Eco Tourism Kenya certification.
