Lake Manyara Hotel

Lake Manyara Hotel stands on the very edge of the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, high above the soda lake and the groundwater forest of Lake Manyara National Park. It is arranged as a two level ensemble of buildings turned toward the valley, so that all 100 guestrooms look east and each has its own balcony. The public rooms carry the same outlook: a timber ceilinged restaurant and bar set along the rim, a stone and wood reception lounge, and a swimming pool terrace cut into the lawn at the cliff edge. Guestrooms are comfortably and simply finished in a local idiom, with en suite bathrooms, mosquito nets, and interconnecting rooms available for families. Arusha is roughly 125 kilometres away and Kilimanjaro International Airport about 165 kilometres, with an airstrip and the park’s northern gate close at hand. The property trades today under the name Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge.
