Mara (Kogatende) Camp - Heritage Camps and Lodge

Heritage Mara Camp, also listed as Heritage Mara Kogatende, is a seasonal tented camp in the far northern Serengeti, set on a hill above the plains a short drive from the Mara River at Kogatende. Its position is built around the Great Migration: between July and November the herds mass on the river banks here before crossing, and the camp is close enough for early starts at the crossing points yet far enough from the main tracks to stay quiet. Accommodation is a handful of canvas bell tents, spaced for privacy, each with a bed under a mosquito net, an en suite bathroom with a flush toilet and hot shower, a tea and coffee station, power points and a veranda facing the bush. A canvas mess tent and a simple open lounge form the heart of the camp, where three course meals are served at long shared tables and guests gather around the fire after the evening game drive. Resident wildlife moves through the area year round, and the camp works well as a two or three night base for the northern Serengeti.
