Mbali Mbali Mahale

Mbali Mbali Mahale is a secluded lakeside camp set on a golden beach in Mahale Mountains National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The lodge sits deep in the African interior, surrounded by forested slopes and rich primate habitat, offering a romantic, wild setting that feels far removed from the usual safari circuit. The camp features ten beachfront tents spaced along the shore. Each tent is raised on a wooden platform and includes an en-suite shower and toilet plus a large private balcony overlooking the lake and beach. Days are built around the park's signature activity - chimpanzee trekking - with kayaking and boat safaris on the lake, nature walks in the Mahale Mountains and time to relax on the beach. Stay packages typically include daily meals, limited laundry, boat transfers to and from Mahale Airstrip, kayaking and a chimp trek each day, plus a boat safari per stay.
