Mufindi Highlands Lodge

Mufindi Highlands Lodge sits at altitude in the Southern Highlands near Mafinga, surrounded by rolling tea estates and pockets of ancient rainforest that give the area its reputation as a mini Europe within Tanzania. Around ten cosy log cabins, built from timber grown on the property, include a family chalet and an anniversary suite with its own open fireplace. The lodge operates its own working farm, with vegetable gardens and livestock supplying the kitchen and horses grazing freely across the grounds. Days here move at a different pace to the safari circuit: horse riding through tea plantations and gum tree forest, trout fishing on the lodge's own lakes, birdwatching for highland specials, canoeing across lily covered water, and games of croquet or tennis in the garden. Meals lean on the farm's own produce, with English breakfasts and afternoon tea by the fire. Mufindi Highlands Lodge is run by Foxes Safari Camps and makes a relaxing stop between the southern circuit parks of Ruaha and Nyerere.
