Mysigio Tented Camp

Mysigio Tented Camp sits in the Ngorongoro Highlands near Mysigio village on the Endulen Road, tucked beneath ancient acacia woodland with views toward Lake Eyasi to the south. Run by African Environments, it is a semi-permanent, low-impact camp built without permanent platforms, about 20 minutes from the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater rim yet away from the crowds. The camp offers 9 spacious eco-luxe tents plus 1 family tent, each with an en-suite bathroom, water-conscious flush toilet, and 100 percent solar-powered lighting, so there are no generators running through the night. A warm lounge tent anchors the camp for evenings around the fire, and the open-sided dining tent looks out over the surrounding hills. Guests can join guided Ngorongoro highland walks with a ranger and Maasai escort, take part in a traditional Orpul ceremony, visit a Maasai boma, and support the camp's Maasai Trainee Program, which places young Maasai warriors from the surrounding villages in year long tourism roles at Mysigio.
