Nyuki Migration Camp

Nyuki Migration Camp is not a fixed lodge. It is a mobile camp that Jupe Collection strikes and rebuilds twice a year so that guests stay close to the Great Migration. From December to May the camp stands in the Ndutu area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on the southern short grass plains where the herds gather to calve. From June to November it moves north to Kogatende in the northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River crossing points. The rate card confirms the bookable windows: Kogatende from 1 June to 30 October, with peak season from 1 July to 30 September, and Ndutu from 1 December to 20 April, with peak season from 15 December to 28 February. Because a single record holds only one map pin, the coordinates on this page mark the Kogatende sector, the longer and higher priced of the two seasons. Both positions should be read as approximate, since the camp is repositioned within each sector to suit the herds. Each guest tent sits on an elevated teak platform designed to leave no trace once the camp moves on, and is positioned for panoramic views over the surrounding plains. Tents have an en-suite bathroom with hot shower, mosquito netting, a bed dressed in white linen with a campaign trunk at its foot, and a teak writing desk with a director chair. Rates are quoted per tent, full board, for single, double or triple occupancy. The camp is 100 percent solar powered. A canvas mess tent under a black stretch canopy holds the dining table and lounge seating and opens onto a teak deck with cushioned daybeds, and a firepit is lit in front of camp in the evening. Jupe Collection sources its furnishings exclusively from Tanzanian makers, including WomenCraft lampshades, carved chairs and furniture built from recycled materials, and the kitchen buys fresh produce from nearby farms and local producers.
