Oliver's Camp

Oliver's Camp is a classic tented camp set in the Silale Swamps area of southern Tarangire National Park, and one of the pioneering properties in the Asilia Africa portfolio. Fifteen canvas tents are split between two wings of five and ten, among them two family tents and a honeymoon tent, and each wing carries its own lounge and dining room looking out across the floodplains of the Tarangire River. Nestled between the wings, a cocktail bar and pool deck make an easy place to while away the middle of the day, while a raised walkway links the two halves of the camp above the bush. Tents are spacious and canvas-walled, raised on wooden platforms, each with an en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private deck for quiet hours with a drink and the floodplain in front of you. The camp runs on solar power with a generator for backup, offers complimentary laundry and Wi-Fi, and welcomes children aged five and older. Walking safaris and night game drives can both be taken straight from camp, a rarity in Tarangire, and hot-air balloon flights over the plains can be arranged. Oliver's Camp closes from mid-March to mid-May for the long rains.
