Olkarien Eco Safari Camp

Olkarien is the flagship property of Acacia Collections and stands in the Seronera area of the central Serengeti, inside the national park boundary. Twenty five rooms are laid out in thatched, plaster walled bandas with wide verandas, hardwood floors, hand carved beds and en suite bathrooms with a shower and a freestanding tub; family rooms and a honeymoon suite are part of the same block, and baby cots can be added. The heart of the property is a high thatched lounge and bar that opens onto a swimming pool and sun deck, with a separate dining room serving three meals a day and a bonfire area for the evenings. Power comes largely from solar, and the operator lists water conservation, eco friendly amenities and an eco certification among its sustainability commitments. Seronera is known for its resident predators and gives reliable game viewing through the year, and the central position lets guests drive out in several directions from a single base. Access is by road from Arusha or by light aircraft. Note that the room rate is full board and includes tea and coffee at meals, drinking water, WiFi and government taxes, but park entry fees and game drives are charged separately.
