Itinerary
Arrive Entebbe - Fly to Bwindi
Morning charter flight over the lush heartland of Uganda to Kihihi airstrip. Transfer to your lodge perched above the Bwindi canopy. Afternoon nature walk along the forest edge with your naturalist guide, spotting L'Hoest's monkeys and Albertine Rift endemic birds. Evening briefing over dinner as the forest orchestra of frogs and insects fills the valley below.

Meal Plan:
BreakfastLunchDinnerFirst Gorilla Trek - Rushaga Sector
Your first trek targets one of Rushaga's families — the sector with the highest concentration of habituated groups. The forest closes around you within minutes of the trailhead: dripping ferns, tangled vines, the sharp crack of a branch somewhere in the canopy. When you find the family, time dissolves. A juvenile swings from a branch two metres above your head. The silverback yawns, revealing canines the size of your thumb, then returns to his meal with supreme indifference. You are a guest in his living room, and he knows it.

Meal Plan:
BreakfastLunchDinnerBatwa Cultural Experience and Crater Lakes
Morning with the Batwa Trail community — former forest dwellers who share their ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants, honey gathering, and forest navigation. Their singing echoes off the valley walls. Afternoon drive to the stunning Bunyonyi crater lakes, where you paddle a dugout canoe across water so still it mirrors the terraced hillsides. Overnight at a lakeside lodge where the only sound is fish eagles calling.

Meal Plan:
BreakfastLunchDinnerSecond Gorilla Trek - Nkuringo Sector
Today's trek takes you into Nkuringo — the most physically demanding sector, with steep descents toward the Congo border. The Nkuringo family is known for being exceptionally relaxed around humans. The silverback here is massive even by gorilla standards, and he has a habit of feeding within arm's reach of trekkers. Different family, different personalities, different forest — but the same overwhelming sense of privilege. Two treks give you a richer understanding of gorilla social dynamics.

Meal Plan:
BreakfastLunchDinnerLake Bunyonyi Morning - Return to Entebbe
A peaceful morning on Lake Bunyonyi — swim, kayak, or simply watch the terraced hillsides catch the morning light. After brunch, transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Five days in Uganda's southwest leaves you with two gorilla families committed to memory, Batwa songs in your ears, and the quiet conviction that this corner of Africa is one of the most extraordinary places on Earth.
